Thinking about sending onboarding emails to help people get started with @silex - user emails would be deleted afterward
There are 2 checkboxes on the login screen but these emails could be helpful whether people check them or not
What do you think?

@robin @silex so you wouldn't be upset to receive an email even if you unchecked the 2 check boxes?
The email would explain that silex is free software, you need to participate if you use it, here is a step by step guide to get started...

When put like that... I'm not sure. At the very least, if the "getting started" information was available as a single page on the Silex help documentation, that would be great. Then the introduction email sent to people who opted into receiving emails could link to that page, and everyone who didn't opt in to the emails could still find it easily if they went looking.

I've been using Silex as someone who has some coding experience, but hadn't done any coding in a decade. My biggest frustration has been that a lot of the help documentation on Silex and elsewhere assumes I already know what I need and then tells me how to do it. Instead, I often don't know what I need or what I'm missing to get something to work, then I have to piece together 3-5 different sets of directions just to know what the first thing was talking about.

@robin @silex hmmm ok
Yes the getting started guide is on docs.silex.me
But all the saas tools send onboarding emails without consent. It's legal as it's considered necessary to use the tool
