An evening batch of #WeirdSmells because my mum brought me 2 kg of frozen lobster mushroom (Hypomyces lactifluorum) peels she collected from her yard, along with 2 gallons of her alkaline well water. What colour will this turn my yarn? We'll find out in the morning 🍄

Drumroll for the mushroom dye.... It's beige! Good strong colour tho. Dye bath pH was about 8.9; maybe that wasn't alkaline enough to get out of the orange range for this dye. I'll try a stronger alkaline dunk today, but I have to make some washing soda first. (pH approx 10-11)
