Are any of you using Briar? Seems like it might be useful. I’m particularly interested in how it might help when there is no internet access.

I've tried it a few years ago, and even with my strong idealism and love for the idea behind the app, it wasn't feasible. A lot of times the messages just wouldn't arrive, or with considerable delay.
I'm sure they fixed a lot of that, though I think there is a major concern is not fixable, which is that both devices (sender and receiver) must be online at the same time to exchange messages.

@maltimore @KolokokoBird There's a “mailbox” concept, something like personal #briar server: you can leave spare device where power/network is, and it will keep the messages until deliverable.
