Are rösti countable? Surely this is a single rösto. I will cook a second panful and then we’ll have had two rösti. In other words do rösti come in number or amount? I think we should be told. #English #Swiss #cooking #mysteries

But I have to disappoint you, rösti is the singular. According to the Duden there is no plural?!? https://www.duden.de/deklination/substantive/Roesti What do they know? I'm pretty sure I can eat two röstis.

@pschanen@mstdn.socia Duden, you've out ranked me! 😉 So is a röstli a little one, that hopes to grow into a full-sized adult Rösti? Or is that only in the cantons of Schwyz, Uri and Unterwalden?

@sellathechemist there is something called röstli? (I'll never get that red passport.) Must be a smaller version for these small cantons.
