Advice request: Should I embargo my thesis?
I would like to convert it into a book, and am hoping to have the book published in an open access format. I am considering embargo in the off-chance that publishers will otherwise not consider publishing the book.
My main goal is wider distribution, and I suspect an eventual book will be way more accessible to a lot of people than the thesis itself (which is more law than I'd make the book).

@kavana I did so, my advisors recommended I do so for the sake of book publication, and its not a big deal in terms of withholding the text (they expire and you can always end it yourself).
but also I can't tell if my publisher cared at all when evaluating the manuscript. usually they do want to have something new to publish tho.
