I can no longer access my bank's website - I suspect it's due to the Badger tracker-blocker which has spotted tiqcdn which belongs to a company called Tealium, and then there's TrustPilot. Any thoughts about this?

I've found a page about something called "Confection" that can help tiqcdn get round Safari and Brave's privacy settings. any advice? Not to be able to access online banking is annoying. And I will complain to them but first any information you have would really help. @eff

@sellathechemist @eff Firefox containers are good for this: in the banking container disable the tracker blocker. Since its cookie won't be seen from any other website accessed from other containers, it doesn't matter.

@sellathechemist @eff

Can you set an exception for your bank’s website?

A temporary fix, I would hope, but it gives you time to argue with them after the holidays.

@sellathechemist I normally set plugins disabled in private tabs and try private browsing for broken sites. IIRC all cookies in private tabs are discarded when closed.

@bellforin Yes. Good point, but there is a growing reliance on fingerprinting which may make cookies less and less important. I'm just trying @albertcardona 's suggestion of a Firefox container. But sooner or later I need to start using either the Tor browser or else the Proton VPN subscription I have…

@sellathechemist https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/features/block-fingerprinting/ suggests Firefox provides some protection against that.

@sellathechemist Hello! What’s the bank website, and what happens when you try to access it?

Does disabling PB using the “Disable for this site” button help? Does re-enabling PB bring the problem back?

To reach the “Disable for this site” button, click on PB’s icon in your browser toolbar.
