I'm trying out self-hosted UnifiedPush. I couldn't figure out how to get it to work with Tusky. The instructions were "install the ntfy app". Okay, and then what? How do I tell the Mastodon server where my self-host is?
...Tusky bloody set it by itself. I'd told ntfy where my server was, Tusky got that from ntfy and passed it to Mastodon. I was already getting UnifiedPush notifications on Tusky.
Which was impressively well integrated! But it may not hurt to ask before sharing my server URL.

@ill_logic Is it sharing the URL with Tusky or is Tusky just sending the notifications to ntfy if it's installed?

@ocdtrekkie It doesn't make sense for Tusky to send notifications to ntfy, it's the other way around.
For setup, Tusky gets my ntfy server URL from my ntfy app and sends it to Mastodon (or tells my ntfy app to send it to Mastodon).
For notifications, the Mastodon server contacts my ntfy server. My ntfy app is connected to the server at ~all times, and sees the notification. The ntfy passes the notification to Tusky, which pops it up for me.
