I’m curious to find out about other people’s stories behind their #FirstCamera.
There’s no better time than the festive season to do a bit of reminiscing.
[#]Fediverse, don’t be shy! What was your first camera?

I had Brownie 620 box camera when I was little. First ‘real’ camera was an Aires 35mm rangefinder for my 13th bday, and have never been without a camera since.

I never owned a rangefinder camera. Only slrs, now smartphones and mirrorless. My friend had the aires (I think) and I envied the portability.
Photography is addictive.

First camera: Praktica SLR (spiegelreflexcamera), bought 2nd hand, about 1985. Forgot the type number.
A few sensors, everything manual: shutter time, diafragma, focus distance.
Bought for a 3 month trip to Japan, 1987, took about 800 pics, mostly dia positives. Lots of good memories, except for doing the manual settings all the time.
Times have changed :)

@RaffKarva my first cameras were disposable kodak cameras, then later i played a bit with my dad's Olympus OM 2-n.
My first real camera was a Sony A330 (DSLR) for my 18th birthday.
