I'm working on connecting the #11ty blog I share with my wife to the Fedi. I'd prefer to use #BridgyFed, but unfortunately it doesn't support multiple users on one domain, and #GoToSocial has some sort of bug that breaks the auth flow with #Bridgy. So I'm pretty stuck.
I wish things were not this difficult. I would like to have syndication and comments backed by the Fediverse but I didn't want to use #Wordpress even before the latest mishegos...

Every few months I get back to this, get stuck, and start fantasizing about implementing my own backend, but I know that unless someone wants to pay me for it it's not going to happen because I absolutely can't do this much unpaid work if I want to stay married

It would be so great to be able to have a SSG site as Fediverse frontend, for the limited use case of displaying only content by the site author(s). Maybe even with a simple client built in for user comments. You could connect your regular account on a Mastodon API compatible instance with OAuth, or get an ad-hoc account from the site just for commenting there. It would not be so hard to implement, just a lot of time that I don't have.
