I require your thoughts on Tang, the beverage.

I'm pleased to see that at least one of you was drinking Tang at the exact moment that you filled out my poll!

@baconandcoconut ooh yes ever had hot Tang?

@jacob HOT. WHAT
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from baconandcoconut@freeradical.zone
@baconandcoconut it was a staple of wilderness trips back in my summer camp days. WAY better than it sounds, and a very good warm sugary pick me up on cold North Woods days

@jacob For camping makes total sense. Plus Tang powder is way easier to transport than a jug of OJ.

@baconandcoconut I still buy it sometimes to drink hot. Nostalgia in part, but not entirely.

@attoparsec That sounds nice actually.

@baconandcoconut @attoparsec I genuinely don't think I've ever had Tang
but I know it's kind of orangey? so "hot tang" sounds terrible

@moira @attoparsec Apparently it is a THING. (Not sure if it is truly a Russian thing or not...)

@baconandcoconut @moira @attoparsec Hot Tang! I'd forgotten about that. Seemed like a good idea during cold and flu season.
But I came by to remark that it isn't necessary to mix the powder into liquid at all. I sometimes just ate it by the spoonful. And somehow survived all that sugar ingestion in a fairly healthy manner.

@Bodling @moira @attoparsec It didn't occur to me to put DRY into the poll!

@baconandcoconut As a child, my parents forbade sugary drinks like that, so I always coveted it. But whenever I had some, at a friendโs house or whatever, I did not like it.

@baconandcoconut have you ever had Tang on snow? We used to do that winter camping when I was a teenager.
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from terri@social.afront.org
@terri That sounds fun! Kind of a neon alternative to maple sugar?
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from baconandcoconut@freeradical.zone
@baconandcoconut yup! Kind of orange sherbet vibes and light enough to carry while backpacking when treacle on snow would be considerably less practical

@baconandcoconut missed the poll, but yes there is Tang in the house and in my go bags
Haven't tried hot tang, but will be hiking in the snow soon, so might try it
