I just keep wondering why my effort isn't on the Billboard Top 100. I mean. It makes sense. It's groovy. It has self-depreciating lyrics. It's mostly in 4/4. You can dance to (part of) it. What's the problem?

Based on your description alone, your music sounds like it could be formulaic.

Just checking boxes is not a good thing, especially in a business with so many consumers seeking novelty.

Make your act innovative.

(I also recall a biopic about Selena in which her father advises her to give people music they can dance to. I particularly like dancing cha cha, Latin hustle, and foxtrot.)
