Lucked out again. Wife insisted I take a vacation with her to Muir Woods. It was 100% overcast the whole drive until we pulled into the park… and then it suddenly became blue skies.

The pictures lie. It was actually fairly dark and gloomy in most of the forest. Those big Coastal Redwoods can get packed together pretty tightly and they block a lot of light.

Every bend in the trail held an "oh, wow" view. We did a small 3 mile loop with about 900 feet of elevation gain.
