@tassoman I used to be on team var_dump() for many years, until I saw the light and switch to #Xdebug. I’m not sure how I ever wrote code without a step debugger before!

@tassoman Usually print_r() but I've added some code to display if something's false, null, or 0. I learned about var_export() relatively recently, and maybe if I'd known about it earlier I'd use it more.

Most of my #PHP dev work is in #WordPress, in case that helps your data¹ collection.

@pjohanneson @tassoman If you don't want to setup a proper debugger like Xdebug, at least using var_dump() is a must. It's made for exactly this use-case.

@tassoman symfony var dumper, 'dd' and 'dump' and you can run a server on the terminal to get dumps for web requests and workers if needed.
