Saying the system is racist feels like a personal attack on folks who don’t consider themselves racist.
They convince themselves the candidates sourced through DEI programs are less qualified and hired only because they are “diverse.”
So they differentiate the old system as “merit-based,” even though it’s definitely not, because when they’re hired under it, it must be due to their own merit/worth that they were hired and not because the system favored hiring white men. (2/3)

@chris I had to rework my resume so much that I ended up removing all my open source work, volunteer work, and publications from the resume. This was at the insistence of multiple resume reviewers. It was awful.

I tend to agree, but as I found last year, when I was laid off, LLMs are being used to filter resumes before they even reach humans, so only the ones that look like what LLMs have learned are proper resumes will end up being seen by a human. 😢

I was able to get around the limitations using the following, but it doesn't feel like the #Laravel way.

From what I can tell, the expectsOutput*() methods are stateful. If you have multiple lines of output, the first call tests the first line, the second tests the second line, and so on.

Testing console output with #Laravel is really difficult. I can't seem to get my expectsOutput() and expectsOutputToContain() expectations to work properly, I can't figure out a way to see the actual output.
How does everyone else do this?

I've been a Safari user for years, and I love the Apple ecosystem, but lately, it's been frustrating me with how slow and sluggish it feels, and a lot of sites aren't optimized to work on it (I blame the Chromification of all things). I've been reluctant to switch, however...
Tonight, I downloaded and tried Vivaldi for the first time, and wow. I gotta say, I'm impressed.
I'm not sure what that means for my future with Safari, but I'm going to give Vivaldi some more time.
