British wind turbines averaged a record 22.54GW of power generation between 3:30am and 4:00am this morning, satisfying 84% of our needs at the time.
Additionally, energy exports exceeded gas-fired power generation between 11:30pm last night and 6:00am this morning.

@kate after the recent storm was a reminder of how useful more energy storage would be, massive amounts of wind but then a lull for a few days after storm goes through where the energy was really expensive. Energy storage would have smooth this out.

@kate do you happen to know what the theoretical maximum output of all our wind farms are? I expect it’s a lot higher than the records we’ve had recently, but we don’t usually get many turbines at full output.
