Toot

Another of my favourite stone circles for today's #StandingStoneSunday

Doll Tor stone circle stands in a little wood, just off Stanton Moor in the Peak District. It's a small ring of six standing stones, none more than about a metre tall. It has a wonderful atmosphere.

This visit September 2011.

@thesweetcheat Beautiful! Only about 10 miles away from me, but I imagine that it's not so straightforward to get to with public transport.

@Vibracobra23 it's not too bad. There's a bus runs to Stanton and Birchover (Matlock-Bakewell I think). I've been there on a day trip from Cheltenham by train and bus before now, although usually we go when we're staying that way.

@thesweetcheat Aye, that's not too bad. I can get a bus direct to Matlock on the main road below me. Definitely worth a day out when the weather picks up.
