Phrases like "average user"... "normal people"... kind of set me on edge. We should just say "imagine a perfectly spherical person".

@cstanhope and yet I still hear stories from friends working in IT support who have to explain how to convert things to PDFs to people with multiple degrees and who have been working with PDFs longer than I’ve been alive
