With the recent larger iOS and macOS updates, and with a personal laptop refresh, I decided to take the chance to try some alternative apps and attempted to go back to Apple Mail and Reminders instead of Mimestream and Things. Verdict: Nope. Experiment over.

My thinking on this was that I would simplify configuration and customization, and just trust the native tools across my devices, but I still don't vibe AT ALL with Apple's UX for these apps. Mail, particularly, still feels weird and sloppy in a way I don't really understand at this point.

My biggest issue with Mimestream is that it doesn't (yet) have an iOS version, and only supports Gmail accounts (I have an additional Fastmail account). My issue with Things is while it can take IN from Reminders and system features, it cannot easily appear in other tools like Fantastical.

Didn't bother attempting to switch to Calendar from Fantastical, because when I opened Calendar it looked nearly unchanged from the version I used 10 years ago, and Fantastical does all of this so much better. Apple's apps are fine for casual use, I'm sure, but still don't work the way I'd like.
