Whistle practice time. Stood in my kitchen for ten minutes playing simple jigs, a little blues, The Irish Rover, and I Vow To Thee My Country – all the while watched with great interest by a Robin in the hawthorn hedge. I wonder what he made of it all.

My father took up the bodhran many years ago, and one of the ancillary instruments he had (because he went full tilt Celtic) was the tin whistle. I had a lot of fun playing around on it.

@Jorsh It really is great fun! I'll never get to a high standard, but it's surprising how quickly I've learned to play simple things. It helps that I no longer have neighbours who can hear me, of course...
