Toot

Zomg, look what I found! I was only 16 when I released the game on THE national computer mag BBS.

This glorious 256 color MCGA game was written in Turbo Pascal and I never figured out how to do raw keyboard input, so the controls were a bit cumbersome; keys for starting running and a separate key for stopping. There's also no double buffering, so you can see some flickering when the sprites draw their background.

@markuslatvala It's weird that I don't remember ever playing this. Perhaps I've just forgotten because I used to try every possible free game I could find back then.

@markuslatvala Niiiiiiiice. A few years too late so that I would had tried it, I used to host a website for Finnish games in the nineties and would "review" everything I could possibly find made locally.

@gimblll Earlier stuff I never uploaded. Mainly because we only had a very expensive dial-up, but also because the games sucked 😅

Too bad ToolBook died away; I made a lot smaller Flash-like games with that.

@markuslatvala Old we are. Old. My early stuff is all lost too. I did something super simple C64 basic and then Turbo Pascal too, but released nothing until ~'99. I managed to find one page of the website from web archive, but unfortunately none of the archives etc. work. https://web.archive.org/web/19970808155833/http://www.sci.fi/~kimmol/reviews/index.htm

@gimblll @markuslatvala My oldest game I still have source code for is this worm racing game from 1994, written in QBasic.
