This DIY rig, all made from scrap and stuff I already had, is going to save me £10 a roll! I've a good digital macro lens and a camera that gives me 5184x3888 "scans". Plus I get to mess with the exposure if I need to. It's solid as a rock and makes manual focussing a breeze, plus the camera and film positions are fixed so it's easy to use. Being able to scan using the computer is a big bonus. Oh, and the results are much better than my flatbed.

@JohnDal Very clever. I guess once out of use it can be stored against a wall and will take up far less space than your average $500 copy stand!
