Hello academics of Mastodon, I have a question for y'all: how much do you pay your undergraduate researchers?

I want to pay the undergraduate researchers I work with a fair wage for the work they do, but I haven't worked with undergrads before, and there aren't a lot of examples of researchers paying undergrads for their work. I'm currently thinking I'd pay an hourly wage somewhere between $25-30/hr for 10 hrs of work per week over the course of the semester, plus some form of overtime the week before the paper deadline. What do people think?

I'm meeting with my advisors soon, and I want to have some sample numbers to bring to them so we can all discuss whether we have funds for these positions already or whether we need to apply for more funding.
