TI-Messenger is digitalising the German healthcare system with an interoperable standard that ensures digital sovereignty, secure federation and end-to-end encryption – all based on @matrix
Synapse Pro, our new enterprise Matrix server, offers huge savings for TI-Messenger deployments with high density multi-tenancy, high availability and elastic horizontal scaling.

@element @matrix I wouldn't want any life critical information to depend on matrix lol
And using it for sharing such information is irresponsible as fuck

@rail_ @element @matrix huh?
What do you want them to use instead? email.. that's much worse when it comes to security. (and don't forget that pharmacies/doctors would otherwise probably use whatsapp to chat between each other if this didn't exist)

@thibaultmol @element @matrix something that will work and will work reliably
Matrix isn't such tool and can't be trusted with anything important
Anything that you actually care about getting delivered and received successfully

@rail_ @element @matrix Element X is much better and reliable than regular element. And things improving fast.
Unable to decrypt is much less likely to happen now https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHzh2Y7BABQ&pp=ygUSdW5hYmhsZSB0byBkZWNyeXB0
and again... what do you want them to use instead?

@thibaultmol @element @matrix fucking signal of all things would be a better, safer idea
Also nah I'll believe it when I see it
"Key synchronization issues have been fully fixed now!" Is the kind of bullshit I've been hearing for years and yet it still happens somehow
It happening even once in a year is too much
"Oh, weird, this message didn't load. Hmmm. Okay anyway, maybe it wasn't important"
Turns out it was an important piece of documentation
Oh well

@rail_ @element @matrix I understand your frustrations with Matrix and I've been there too. But like.... What else are they supposed to use? Signal?
Signal doesn't make sense because it doesn't have a custom login system that they need.
They basically authenticate using the national ID system for health care workers. So that the authenticity of each user is guaranteed.

@thibaultmol @element @matrix look i don't give a shit, i literally just don't care
it's not my problem to solve
all i say that matrix for healthcare is actually not better than using facebook messenger or whatsapp
and actually might be worse if you consider that the other two are actually usable and reliable at what they do :)

@thibaultmol @element @matrix Slack would've been a much better idea and can implement all the fancy SSO login
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from rail_@bark.lgbt
@rail_ Slack, really? Then they also could post publicly to the internet...
And the problem with other things like Signal are they they are centralised services...
And I need to say that I no longer have issues regarding the encryption in matrix. Only when someone creates a new session without linking it - but this isn't matrix fault 🤔

@Beowulf @thibaultmol how about XMPP? it's much better than Matrix imo, Matrix has just been awful for me probably because I'm on matrix.org, but yea anyway XMPP or Telegram would be best.
Or maybe Telegram over XMPP. idk. At least Telegram is more private than FB, xitter and things, as well as that you'll never have to worry about ur message being "encrypted", unlike with XMPP and Matrix. Though I have had a much better experience with XMPP.

@david @Beowulf you realize that the messages being encrypted is like... pretty fcking important?!
I'm sorry, but this is medical data we're talking about in this context.... you want e2e encryption ideally...
and XMPP again... e2e... very few if any client properly supports it

@thibaultmol Can you pls stop mentioning me. David is blocked on my instance (I think for a reason), so this thread is also broken for me.

@rail_ @element @matrix So you want Slack employees to be able to read all your medical information?
I'm sorry, i'm not trying to fight, i really don't want to come across like that.. But anything that isn't E2E is off the table.
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from thibaultmol@en.osm.town
@thibaultmol @element @matrix well first of all I would like to read my own medical information and that's not a given with Matrix
we need to go down to things as basic as that xD and only then think of any extras
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from rail_@bark.lgbt
@rail_ well tbf. That's a different aspect. This is purely about inter healthcare worker communication.
For patients to access their own file requires an actual patient portal. Which belgium has and i'm sure Germany does as well
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from thibaultmol@en.osm.town
@thibaultmol you didn't get it
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from rail_@bark.lgbt
@rail_ guess I don't.
all I'm trying to say is that you being able to access your own medical info is unrelated to this.
that's different companies/orgs/teams who work on that.
It's like there's one team who does everything
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from thibaultmol@en.osm.town
@thibaultmol matrix is so secure you often find yourself unable to access your own messages that's my point
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from rail_@bark.lgbt
@rail_ @thibaultmol @element @matrix LMAO, FB Messenger reliable?
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from Hipska@mastodon-belgium.be
@Hipska @rail_ I had a whole year where it just didn't want to send me notifications. i checked every setting and reinstalled app many times.
It got fixed when i got a new phone...
Thankfully i could contact Facebook to ask for support... oh wait
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from thibaultmol@en.osm.town
@thibaultmol @rail_ Exactly! I had very similar problems.
