Friends, do any of you know anything about #chromebook s? I heard somewhere I could install Linux on one, and mine has reached the end of its update life. I'm losing functionality all over the place and I don't want to just throw it away. A nice lightweight Linux would be good.

@audreygwinter if you get a new Chromebook plus you essentially can run Linux apps in a container/sandbox without having to install any other form of Linux. If you use Flatpak then installation is super easy. I bought a #Chromebook to replace my failed Windows laptop. I have a variety of Linux apps on it from Libre Office to GIMP, plus I even have a Windows app running via WINE. There are sometimes window management issues but you can usually find the settings online somewhere to fix that.
