1 in 4 cars sold in the UK in November were electric.

Despite all the negativity in the media about EV sales being down and so on - the market keeps on growing.

Too often media reports just reflect the author's own dislike of EVs more than anything.

@janrosenow I get sick every time car reviewers start talking about cheap electric cars and then they say it costs 30 fucking thousand pounds. 30k pounds or € where I am is NOT fucking cheap for that flimsy can of metal. In fact the actual cheap petrol cars have entirely disappeared. 12K € was a cheap petrol car, a VW Polo or Hyundai i30 sized car. Well, these cars now all cost 20K € as base model. I don't remember my payckeck gaining such proportionate increase in last 10-15 years. Wtf?

@janrosenow

Isn't it more likely to be a well financed and professional disinformation campaign financed by oil companies, Petrostates and ICE brands? They have access to trillions in capital, are directly threatened by electrification; and there are lots of PR (propaganda retailers) companies to choose from.

We know this happened for decades of climate change denial. The same tactics are being used for EV FUD.

@janrosenow Good News. Even better if absolute sales would have remained on the same level (I don't know).

@janrosenow this is a bit like complaining about all the fuss over the millennium bug. The amount of work (and financial losses) to get here has been colossal.

Many brands are still far off compliance and will be forced to buy credits this year.

@janrosenow media reports that r positive about gas guzzlers are paid for by fossil fuels interests. Don’t believe the hype, keep calm and don’t buy gas guzzlers, EVs are much better in almost every way

@janrosenow Agreed. These 'petrol heads' are in control of the car columns, and the term kinda makes me imagine them as post apocalyptic mad max desert people.

@janrosenow The global climate is now affected by many human industries and automobile exhaust, so with the development of the times, electric vehicles will completely replace fuel vehicles.
