New on the Monster Toy Blog: Scorpion Alien (Aliens by Fox/Kenner)

"I was 11 years old when this toy was released in 1992. I remember first encountering it and rest of the Kenner Aliens line in the toy isle of a supermarket while on holiday in France. I hadn't seen the Alien films but was transfixed by the toys. So, while my parents gathered the groceries, I stayed in the toy section ogling the figures..."

@AdamStuartSmith I'm happy to report that I still own a good chunk of Kenner's 1993-era ALIENS toy line. I'll fish 'em out someday, take some photos, and share them with you (you may need to remind me if I don't get around to it before Christmas). I got the Scorpion Alien first, since it's an obvious replica of the Stan Winstonified creatures from the second film. It remains beautiful, even after all these years.

Oh, have you pressed the little button on its back yet :D ?

@WillderBeast Oh, yes, I describe and illustrate the action feature in the review! See the sixth photo: https://monstertoyblog.com/scorpion-alien-aliens-by-fox-kenner/

Maybe you'd consider submitting a Monster Toy Blog guest review for one or two of the other figures in the series!? The Queen and the Flying Queen have been reserved but all the other figures are fair game.

@AdamStuartSmith I'd be honoured to contribute, but it'll have to wait a few days (if that's cool).

I own the Scorpion Alien and the Queen, but also the Gorilla and Bull Aliens, as well. Oh, and the Lt. Ripley figure (complete with flamethrower). I reckon the Flying Queen might've been a later addition to the series since she didn't appear either in the stores or the "Buy Them All" roster on the back of the original packaging.

@WillderBeast Thanks! Days!? Weeks or even months would be completely fine! But I welcome the enthusiasm! General instructions here: https://monstertoyblog.com/submit-review/

The Gorilla or Bull would be an interesting addition to the blog for sure.

@AdamStuartSmith As an addendum (and an interesting trivia point), each figure came with a mini-comic, a small face hugger, and a cut-out Character Facts card. By a miracle, I still have them.

@WillderBeast Do you have the face hugger that came with the scorpion alien? As I mention in the review, I don't have it, because of how I came to acquire the figure in the first place - found it on a beach! So, if you could take a photo of that for me I could add it to my review, credited of course.

@AdamStuartSmith I have the facehugger for the Scorpion Alien and the others. Also, I've got the chestburster that came with the Queen.

I'll have something submitted to you in a week or week-and-a-half. Sooner, if I can manage it.

I'd better haul out the big Nikon for this job. You'll want quality shots for your 'blog 📷 .

@WillderBeast FYI, someone beat you to reviewing the Queen Alien, see: https://monstertoyblog.com/alien-queen-aliens-by-kenner/

But there are still plenty more to be featured if you're keen!?

@AdamStuartSmith Dang! I must apologize to you - I'd forgotten to work on those ALIENS action figure reviews over the holidays. In fairness, I'd ended last year in a state of extreme exhaustion, and I am still getting my mojo back. Right now, I'm running on limited energy, and I'm pouring what I've got into my illustrated storytelling (see the ongoing "The Warbling Werewolf" posts in my Profile page). Perhaps, later in the year, we can reconvene on my contributions (if you still need them).

@WillderBeast "Stanwinstonified" is a great way of putting it - wish I'd thought of that for the review! I may steal it in an edit...
