Also… sometimes using the right tool for the job means using JavaScript, and that’s not a bad thing. Use what gets the job done, not what seems “ethically” right by some theoretical logic (unless of course writing JavaScript really does kill babies or whatever).

@crmsnbleyd not to start an argument, but no. 😅 If you’re a web developer that feels comfortable writing JS and always has node installed, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with building your scripts and tooling around it. Application backends? Sure. Desktop applications? It’s a stretch, but can be great. Everything has its tradeoffs.
