high dpi is still fucking broken on windows... or in .net. or in both. probably in both.

also why do fonts still appear thinner in high dpi? linux and macos don't have that problem

@kwramm if I had to wager on a guess I’d bet that in Hi DPI mode antialiasing is off. It can make things lines that have curves (like text) look a bit fatter, but smoother, when on. With HiDPI the pixels are small enough that it’s not needed.

@pixel that's not the case. Some people think Cleartype is broken or not working correctly. There is a program called "MacType" which is a limited Cleartype replacement which handles font weights better at High DPI, but I found it hit and miss. But when it works, fonts behave like on other OSes which support high DPI properly
