iOS 18.2 doesn't let you delete the App Store app if it's the only installed marketplace app on the iPhone. Does this restriction make sense?

@mysk I'd say it's reasonable, this is a phone after all. A user should have an app store installed at all times.

It doesn't apply to PCs though since you can download and run executables as-is on macOS, Linux and Windows, plus package managers also exist, so app stores aren't necessary unless you specifically need a version from the store.

@mysk Depends on the app store. On iOS Epic is working on a new version of EGS that would allow developers to ship iOS games. Then there's AltStore which does its own thing, allowing you to sideload apps that might not be available in the App Store.

@mysk If that's what you want, sure. No one's stopping you from having both EGS and App Store installed at the same time.

@mysk I agree this is strange, especially since you can reinstall the app store from the settings.

I would be curious to know if the same pop-up shows up if the last store you have is another store.
