As much as I'd like to rant about the privilege one must have living abroad in the EU, benefitting from arguably higher standards of living, better healthcare, better salaries and better infrastructure, to vote for a pro-Putin scumbag when we're SO CLOSE to finally entering the Schengen area, but I think people just didn't know him when they voted.
I mean, they had interviews in the amphitheatre where Antena 3 CNN was stationed all day and night to track the votes, they interviewed people that voted for Călin and besides one woman that claimed he was intelligent and different from the rest, nobody fucking knew who he was.
And to no one's surprise, he had an initial majority hitting second place after the rural votes have been counted, because people just vote unknowingly some of the time, which is deeply worrying right now.

I think Lasconi now has to push hard until December 8 (second round), because so far, PMP, reper and FD are backing her, with a possibility that PNL and PSD would also back her against Călin which has support from AUR so far.
Drop the family stuff and the humbleness, attend more interviews (she attended 2 vs Georgescu that attended 8 before the first round), try to garner more votes from the anti-system voters, and heavily push into pro-EU stuff.
I don't think there's another way to conceivably win the second round. She needs to tap heavily on the European diaspora because everywhere else around the world, she was the majority pick, but surprisingly enough Călin Georgescu had the majority in the EU for whatever reason.
Push against this prick, shine a light on his pro-Putin views, because people don't really know him. People in diaspora voted with him without knowing anything about him, his occupation or political views! They saw him for a couple of seconds on TikTok and said "Okay, I'll vote for him".

His meteoric rise on TikTok is probably due to over 5000 bot accounts using his name, with many comments all saying they'd vote for him, as was revealed by Antena 3 CNN last night at ~11PM.
The second big shock is PSD (the "Social Democratic" Party), the largest political party in the country, whose candidates have never left the first or second place in presidential elections since 1992, whose candidate Marcel Ciolacu, a thieving scumbag that has ties with the secret services (SRI) didn't even make it in second place, being edged out by 2000 votes from Elena Lasconi, the USR liberal candidate.
USR will most likely be backed by PSD, PNL, possibly UDMR and the rest of the centre-left and centr-right parties, because the next round is decisive, and it's between pro-Putin ball washer Călin Georgescu and pro-EU, no-service-affiliation, liberal and quite honest Elena Lasconi.

You have to understand from the recent first round of presidential #elections in #Romania that the results are ACTUALLY, legitimately shocking, it's not media sensationalism this time around.
None of the major sociologists and politologists (political scientists) could have foreseen this.
Călin Georgescu has been a member of the far-right AUR party, and has been proposed by AUR as a prime-minister, but left the party mere days before the election because of some ideological differences. RFK Jr., who's known Călin for 15 years, allegedly may come visit him any day now as he's got in the second round in first place.
People voted for him because they saw him on TikTok, but they know very little about who he is.
He's a far-right pro-Putin scumbag that minimised the COVID-19 pandemic, but funnily enough he's pro-environmentalism and ecologism (?) - which, to me sounds like a cover for Russian bootlicker, because we've seen other 'Green' parties (cough Jill Stein) and even EU green parties suck up to Putin.

Also watched The Substance tonight! What a movie, wow.
It's not horror, in the sense that there will be jumpscares. It's horror - body horror, and mind horror.
It's quite literally about 'The Substance', something injected into an object or a person, which then multiplies, while still being 'one'. The newborn must switch back to the 'matrix' (their host) every 7 days, forever - which sounds reasonable, in theory.
But of course, a more handsome, sexy version of you might get carried away. So it's 'one more hour', 'one more day', 'a couple more days', and 'one more week'. Surely, it won't hurt, right?
Well, it does. The host will begin to decay (age, rot) if not switched to in time, which is irreversible. Elizabeth Sparkle (Demi Moore) goes from a mature woman in her 50s to an aging hag, before becoming a literal blob, as the young 'Sue (Margaret Qualley)' tries to desperately get more time than the 7 day rule.
Great concept, and great execution all-around.

Just watched it. This is what we needed, honestly! Screw the live action movies, Transformers was always destined for animation, and it works wonderfully well.
Great soundtrack, splendid visuals, great character arcs, and a great story.
I'm hoping whatever comes next in the franchise continues down this path, because there's a lot to look forward to. I wholeheartedly recommend watching this movie, no matter if you're an existing fan or someone that hasn't even heard of Transformers before.

For group chats use MLS, for 1-on-1 use Signal protocol. Give the same features (emojis, basic stuff like file sharing, etc) + federation to both + moderation, admin features on MLS. That would be the backend. For the frontend, do whatever you want. Want a Matrix/Discord-like experience? Make a frontend like that, use the MLS features. Want a Signal/Whatsapp-like experience? Make a frontend. You'd still have the same features regardless, so nothing would be lost.

What an incredible use of our limited resources, an AI bot that writes completely useless descriptions to printer driver software updates. All of this could have been done with an RSS feed or a crawler for the printer driver websites.
Instead, we're draining the waters so that a stupid ChatGPT bot can write the same shit, but in a different expression every time. Moreso with a name that recalls the atrocities and the regime of one of history's most brutal dictators.
