Can someone explain to me the attraction that sites that should know better (like banks) use pop-ups for encapsulating downloads.
End-users that aren’t paying close attention don't see the pop-up blocked alerts in the navigation bar and are completely perplexed as to what happened.

@erik Pop-ups should be considered an anti-pattern, to be honest. It's either incompetence, or ignorance.

@erik The two banks I deal with here seem to be quite good about it, for what it's worth.
One of them is a bit too fond of doing A/B testing badly, though 😂
