I went from "urgh why do we have to deal with types" when I first started using systems languages to "oh my gods scripting languages are just machines for making logic bombs" whenever I use high-level languages now
writing Python plugins and dealing with perfectly functional scripts that will bring down the host program only when a specific button is pressed because I'm accessing a struct field in the wrong place
why do we do this to ourselves and why does everyone think it's better?!

I just fixed a 9000+ line legacy Blender addon that was crashing under this specific circumstance and I'm feeling better now
