KH1 with the accessories is about 1500 euros in Europe.
QMX costs about 200 euros when you order it built. Add tuner (100 euros?) and battery ~30 euros and you are still 1/5th of the price of KH1.
I feel like someone is making good profit here..

I bought my Elecraft K3 radios 16y ago, when 1€ = 1.68$. Those were the days!
I'm not willing to pay at the current exchange rate. It's not worth my limited stock of money.

@on5zo @OH3CUF 16 years ago Elecraft was also interested in selling and servicing their equipment around the world, not anymore it seems.

What do you mean?
My radios and amp got very good service in Italy from the Elecraft appointed service point.
It's just all expensive stuff. Is it 2x better when it costs 2x more? I'm sure it'll beat my 1300€ FT-710 but is it better than 3k€ radio?
I hope my K3's will last long. Still very happy.
73 ciao!

@on5zo @OH3CUF they had 6 or 7 partners, many of them capable of doing component level repairs, now only one servicing center remain, the last time they updated their website was three years ago and there are unconfirmed voices claiming they’re going to retire soon; the other is in the smallest economic market of the amateur radio world and completely irrelevant outside it.
