Everyone stands in a circle facing inward, and chooses someone else at random. Then they gaze at the other person’s shoes. At a signal, everyone looks up, and if they find themselves in eye contact with the other person, both are dropped from the game.

I was once riding the London underground and the carriage had a perfectly TfL-styled sticker that said

I looked at the sign, and then a young student that was standing across the aisle. We had eye contact for 25 ms and they turned their eyes away.
