So briefly:

We tell participants to search for targets with their mouse, and we have different rules governing where those targets are.

Then we can see where they search and infer whether they're learning the rules governing where the targets are.

And the overarching question is whether some rules are more intuitive than others, because there's this idea that people automatically assume one specific default rule, and maybe can't even learn any other rules than that default one.
