Hey, any #gardening people out there know a poison that's highly effective on bamboo?

@FunkyBob it takes quite a long time to kill bamboo, but if you cut the stems so that you can put a small amount of dilute roundup into the culm, and then cover that hole with foil, it's sort of effective.

@FunkyBob it may depend on the kind of bamboo, but there was a great video I saw from a bamboo grower (?) about how to get rid of bamboo. I’ll try to find it, but in short:

• cut it all to ground level

• let it send up shoots until just before it starts to produce leaves

• repeat for a year or so

The goal is to starve the rhizomes, by making them continually sprout but not allowing them to photosynthesise
