I wish Mastodon

• Allowed users to turn on/off HTML or other markup for individual posts, like it does for CWs, polls, federation, etc., instead of requiring hunting through the settings, saving the settings and then reloading the web interface, posting, and then doing it all again to turn it off.

• Showed a proper preview while writing a post so you can tell what's worng before posting and then having to edit. Especially needed when using markup (or -down) and unfamiliar emoji.

• Documented what HTML tags are accepted or not in an easy to find place (i.e. not the source code). Turns out that tt and small are not supported. (to save others the search, "p br span a del pre blockquote code b strong u i em ul ol li ruby rt rp" are allowed according to https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/blob/47f0faebc9cb197ea7b4cf8d191df0a1ec926f59/lib/sanitize_ext/sanitize_config.rb)

• Supported BB Code. Quicker to type than HTML (without need for annoying br or p), easier to remember than markdown (ew, noone likes markdown).

@Kimiko_0 I didn’t even know HTML could be used at all! I’ve certainly never seen it!

Maybe it depends on what app you’re using?

@bougiewonderland Oh, this server uses the glitch-soc flavor of Mastodon. Maybe regular Mastodon doesn't have it?
