I don't want to be doomscrolling, but I can't find any other kind of scrolling to do.

@nik I am stepping up my use of lists, filters, mutes, and changes in who I'm following in order that I may have an enjoyable feed to scroll here.

@RMiddleton I shall browse the people you follow for inspiration

@nik In that case I'll explain my methods in more detail:
I get most inspiration offline. Poetry is part of my daily life. I'm reading books on paper, ebooks using Hoopla & Libby, & audiobooks. Plus books I find in little free libraries & the great free ebooks that progressive publishers have offered in the past week.
Online I look at the source of posts I don't enjoy. If we aren't mutuals I may unfollow. Or I have a News list that doesn't show up in main feed but I still follow.

@nik I also use Filters, adding many new words to the Filter list. I'm currently electing to see those posts with a warning. When I feel better I open some of the filtered posts. My filter warning labels used to describe the content being filtered. My new mega filter name is Do Good Work because I see that message all day. Most posts lately are about the US debacle. I still read & discuss the US's underlying problems (racism, capitalism) but I filter the shallow news onslaught.
