Well, I'm slowly figuring out monitor shenanigans.
It turns out that with the open source apps Sunshine [1] and Moonlight [2], I can stream a really nice 4K HDR picture, with almost zero latency, from my gaming PC to my Mac over CAT6 LAN.
I can also stream HDR from my PS5 to my Mac using the PS Remote Play app, though the quality/latency doesn’t feel quite as nice.
And I found the Sabrent Thunderbolt 4 KVM switch [3], so I can switch an Apple thunderbolt monitor between my personal Mac Mini and my work Mac Studio.
The only missing piece is my Switch, but I can always play that handheld (rip 1080p) …
… which means the road blocks to adopting an (expensive) Apple display in my life have mostly vanished. 🤪

I've gotta say: there's something really satisfying about having PC/PS5 games just be another app window on my Mac, rather than having to switch inputs every time I want to play a game.
