According to the OS via Bing Maps, this bay is Porth Beach, AFAICS. But when the tide is out like this, you can walk right through to Towan Beach, to the left of the island, and never notice.

(PS one of the best kept web mapping secrets, IMHO, is that in the UK on a Mac at least, you can see OS Maps as an option in Bing Maps - click top right where you can choose the satellite etc. Doesn't work on my phone, not tried an iPad or Win machine...)

@carusb Porth Beach is a fair way from Towan! :-) When tide is out, you can walk from Towan to Great Westen, Tolcarne etc long before Porth :)

@staustellsimon OS map changes from 50k to 25k as you change the scale, too. I should have recognised I was on the wrong scale. IIRC the print option isn't great, but I have stitched screen grabs using Affinity Photo quite successfully.

@carusb You mentioned that the photos were soft early on in #folderweek. Does this camera have a coupled rangefinder? I wonder if it needs calibration.

@tomnorthfilm It has an uncoupled rangefinder. It may need a little calibration although I always try to think whether it's reasonable as it goes from the RF to the lens! Many of these were (I thought) too far for the distance to matter much, but I was perhaps forgetting that the lens was never far from wide open, which in 120 becomes a DoF problem!

I aim to test the scanner focus, but it's a faff to set up so I haven't got round to it yet.

Trevose Head lighthouse. An example of the two kinds of defects on this roll of REFLX LABs DoubleX: the longitudinal scratch, and the longitudinal thin black line, just below the horizon. EDIT: REFLX did kindly refund me for these films.

@carusb I understand you are able to buy Ultrafine Photo Warehouse film in their Etsy store on your side of the pond. They sell bulk loaded Double-X at reasonable prices. They also sell 100-ft bulk rolls. Have had no problems with scratches.

@jtnystrom Thanks Johan. It's Kodak 5222 so nominally ISO 250, I used EI 200. No real sky detail unfortunately, as there was on other days, but a nice day for walking.

@tomnorthfilm Thanks Tom. I rated the DoubleX at IE 200, and used the time I use for Cinestill BWXX: 8 minutes nominal in HC-110 dilution E.

Community science, with a sneaky bit of #WindowFriday #FensterFreitag thrown in! There were several of these by beaches near where we were staying: place your smart phone on the stand, camera looking through the window, post the picture to the web-site given!
