This is what weekends are for: our community builds things, and we jump to play with them!
One of our @astro Starlight contributors shared a "credit" plugin. Within minutes, it's on my site so I can show off my starlight-blog
template pride!
(Colours entirely of my own (mis)doing. ๐ญ You can have a normal looking Starlight Blog.)

@sarah11918 @astro And in true open-source spirit (OSS!), I have just submitted the project's first pull request. ๐ค
(By request of the plugin author, to be clear. No unsolicited pull requests from THIS GAL.)

@sarah11918 @astro I think there's a real larger picture here, too:
Someone built a small, cute plugin with a couple of preconfigured options. I, using nothing but my sharp pattern-matching skills and attention to detail, added a third option. (And of course updated the docs from "two..." to "three...")
THIS. IS. open-source contributing. This is building small, fun things together, and contributing whatever your (even limited) skills and experience might allow. #opensource #oss

@ayo Depends entirely on the repo and depends on WHAT...
"Not everything belongs in docs..." ๐

@sarah11918 oh yeah, and I guess if itโs not a straightforward change and needs discussion, unsolicited PRs are not very efficient

@ayo Right! And even in cases where there's a clear problem, a PR is one particular solution to the problem.
We just typically find that if we talk about the problem first (e.g. file an issue!) then we can all converge on a preferred solution, rather than jumping to it.

@sarah11918 clear! thanks a lot Sarah for answering. I need lots of guidance on open source way of work now, as I also have to guide others more frequently

@ayo It also sucks to have to reject someone's PR! ๐ So anything we can do to make sure opened PRs are accepted PRs is a winning strategy! ๐ช
