Biology education is a fucking joke. For grad school I'm expected to attend in-person labs, where instead of sitting at home watching videos, I sit in a classroom watching videos. Today we got out fetal pigs just to stare at them while they stunk up the place and watched FIFTEEN MINUTES worth of videos MINIMUM.

I don't care how innovative it is to have ~technology in classrooms~, I honestly do not give a shit, I hate this and I hate having to do it and I hate going through the motions of this entire charade. Every week I go home and teach myself the material I should have learned hands-on in the lab. Is this the best we can do for students? Is this all there is? Who is this preparing? For what? I thought higher education was supposed to expand horizons, not force compliance in a very narrow range of expression like compulsory schooling. And we pay for this????
