We've moved to Hetzner (from Digital Ocean) for our hosting. Tests so far show faster bandwidth and CPUs at a fraction of the cost. Details below (#python, cc @mkennedy):

@talkpython @mkennedy My sympathies. Hetzner have - not just bad support, but bizarely bad support. I think I lasted a couple of months with them.

@calum @talkpython Thanks for sharing your experience. I don’t expect to need any support. I just need one virtual server to stay running. But I’d appreciate hearing what went wrong technically for you.

@mkennedy @talkpython The pricing and instance speed were, as you mentioned, better than elsewhere (I normally use Scaleway), but on a simple request to open outbound mail ports on one instance to allow for password resets I was pushed around in circles with demands for information and number of emails per day etc. It didn't matter how specific I was, they just asked for the same thing in different wording.
Scaleway - one quick email and a phone call to confirm my identity and it was sorted.

@calum @talkpython Got it. That email limitation is a hassle. We’re sending email using the SendGrid API so outbound it doesn’t look like email. I guess we didn’t hit that issue.

@mkennedy @talkpython That would be a bonus. I was sending via Zoho, so unfortunately had no choice.
