Finally deactivated my twitter account. Originally created 22nd November 2006, during my lunch break based on the timestamp. Haven't really used it in ages anyway.

If you see an ldodds over there, it won't be me.

@ldodds Well done.

I work in university sector, which seems totally dependent on Twitter. Have to follow many uni accounts just to keep up to date, as they won’t publish all news on their own websites.

Also council, travel, and emergency service accounts are Twitter only, so only way to know about travel delays and their cause is to follow them.

That said, I’ve got my following count down to 24, and my own account is empty and private.

I long for an #RSS resurgence.
