Might have just got the verse tune for that song I was tinkering with last week!
I already had some verse words, but I thought the tune they'd arrived with was a bit too samey with the chorus. This one is better :-)

Now I'm not sure I still like the aforementioned verse tune! I've been experimenting with how it would join onto the chorus, and so far, it's not gluing together to my satisfaction. Having a good phrase in itself is one thing, having it sit right with the rest of the song is another thing. Might need more tinkering, might just need a different tune for the verse.
However, I am still liking this chorus a lot!

Verse tune problem of aforementioned song has probably been solved! The solution combined a bit of the first tune-attempt and a bit of the second.
Then I've been experimenting with a bassline to accompany it. That's probably not quite done yet, but it has some good bits.
And then I want to write some more words, for a second verse.
So far so good :-)

@SingleBass I know exactly what you mean. There's only so much tweaking you can do before you have to say, "OK, seems I have written two tunes 🙄"
Nothing gets wasted if it's good though, I wrote a great brass section part when I was in a reggae band many years ago, but it just didn't sit really well with the song, so I came up with something else. Never forgot it though and recently 'it found its place' 😁
