I need a new job, I'm fed up being treated like crap at work, I do more work and hours than anyone else and it's never recognised, I'm paid much lower than industry standard but that didn't bother me as I enjoy the actual work... but I can't survive on what I am paid and my health can't survive on how I get treated.

I am an open source engineer in a data centre, working solely within *nix environments, with experience in some automation such as shell scripting and ansible, I have experience in virtualisation platforms such as vmware's vsphere, opennebula and proxmox, and have some experience with containers and kubernetes too.

I don't have any current certificates, I had an RHCSA from 2019-2022, but I never renewed it as the company didn't want to and I didn't see a need until now.

I'm crap at selling myself, and I am an anxious person who doesn't do well meeting new people, but I am a great team player as well as working alone.

I probably need a mentor lol. I'm reaching out to #Fedihire to get help with finding a (remote) role, confidence in myself, and a better life.

@meatlotion hey i wish you good luck! had the same "problem" in my last position, lead into a severe burnout - so: very well if you leave asap 🙂
