He's right, we really need to fix this. With or without Congress.

@tarheel @mekkaokereke I'm really sick of people accusing Democrats of brinksmanship when it's the Republican Party's fault that the other candidates are so dire.
We have a democratic primary process. Push for more progressive candidates during that process, or maybe cross over to try and make the Republican candidates less awful. If you don't have the votes, it's fine to voice disappointment.
But don't aim grievances at the Democratic Party when it's the Republican Party actually responsible.

I'm not accusing the Democratic party of brinkmanship.
I'm saying very specifically that 20% of Black men Dem voters said, "Listen. We are not voting for Biden. We understand that this means that Trump will win. We are not deluding ourselves with some Jill Stein, 3rd party nonsense. We know that if Trump wins, that this US democracy experiment is over. We will watch the whole thing burn. Because we are tired of being taken for granted."
This is by definition, brinkmanship.

The divide between Black men and Black women voters was not over policy. It was over strategy and tactics.
90% of Black women voters and 60% of Black men voters were like:
"Bro. Don't be an ass. If you don't vote for Biden and Trump wins, it will be so bad for so many people. It can still get worse. This is not rock bottom."
20% of Black men voters were like:
"I don't care I don't care I don't care! Not doing it. You wanna play? Let's play! Not doing it. Nope. No Biden."

@mekkaokereke @tarheel Thanks for your clarification. I will accept your argument on your own terms, even though it does not match up with the definition of brinksmanship.
With that understanding, I realize I did not understand what you were saying in the first place, so I retract my rebuttal as irrelevant.
(Brinksmanship is going through with dangerous actions up until the limit, and then stopping just before it's too late. You're talking about going all the way through, which is different.)
