So Amazing!! Watching this Poorwill right now with several other birders, so very lovely and mellow. @faerye if you are around FYI this fellow has been over at Dharma Rain Zen Center in Portland for a couple of days and is insanely obliging.

Daytime is the right and proper time for a snooze! This Poorwill kept his eyes mostly closed, but occasionally would slowly open them, while rocking side to side in this waddle-in-place motion as if getting just a bit cozier on the bed of cobbles. So awkward and endearing! There's nothing like hearing ten hardened birders simultaneously go Awwww...
