Toot

Written by Taylor Drew :tokyo: on 2024-11-01 at 13:56

I compiled a list of what I read in the past month on my blog again. Still not completely sold on how I'm doing it, but I'm commited to keeping up the habit and figuring it out as I go.

That being said, if anyone has any suggestions or anything they want to add about any of the books I've talked about, feeling free to let me know!

Nooo! I forgot to apply the meta image that I made especially for this post! Guess nobody will get to see it until next month...

@mollymay5000 The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams has been sitting in my to-read pile for several months since I stumbled upon it in a Little Free Library. It caught my attention since I'd read the nonfiction OED book "The Professor and the Madman" by Simon Winchester. Nice to see your short review of the Williams book. I've got to get around to cracking it open myself one day soon!

@jendefer Yeah, it's been on my TBR since 2021 and I made it my mission earlier this year to clear all the 2021 entries (my TBR only contains books I want to read that I don't own). I was kind of insulted that I hadn't read it sooner. It was really great. I definitely want to read the author's other work.

@mollymay5000 that's quite a list! I'm jealous, and also picked up a couple of titles to look for.

Somehow I haven't finished many books this year, and especially not the last couple of months.

LOVED How Long til Black Future Month.

Just finished Life Ceremony, in English, and WOW. Haven't read Konbini Ona in either E or J. Magical realism isn't always my thing, so I have to take it in doses.

SNS no Tetsugaku especially sounds intriguing. Will look for it when I get home.

@rdviii Glad you found some things that interested you in my list! That's the actual goal, though I release some people will focus on the number. The reality is that reading is basically the only thing I do in my free time when I'm not looking at my phone lol

Conbini Ningen isn't magical realism at all, so you might not need to wait as long as you're expecting! And yeah, totally loved How Long til Black Future Month. Every story was exceptional.
