I've lived 3/4 of my life in Deep Red states (politically). Nothing is sadder than people who live in those states believing that moving away somehow removes the toxic conservative assholes from your life. It doesn't. It can actually be worse in Blue States because of the tolerance paradox ("I am in the tolerant majority, ergo, I must permit an openly loud Nazi to be a Nazi and let that shit happen in the workplace, at social events, family gatherings," etc.)

Stay where you are and fight the good fight. It's not better elsewhere-- just more expensive.*

• excluding the reproductive health situation, which is literally the reason to move to a Blue State.
